Dolphinwatch is dedicated to the conservation of the resident group of Bottlenose Dolphins at the Mouth of the River Shannon and the protection of their habitat, an EU Special Area of Conservation. We endeavour to educate people by offering interpretation and the opportunity to engage in this natural marine heritage. We strive to use environmentally sustainable practices throughout our business and to contribute to the success of the local economy.
We strive for efficient boat fuel comsumption during our trips. In 2014, the carbon footprint per passenger, was 1.5kg. - a reduction of 1/3 since 2011. Here is a link to a Carbon Calculator Tool.
